Uniden TRU8888 5.8 GHz 1-Line Corded / Cordless Phone

I have been looking for a combo phone to replace my current 2.4 Sony that stopped working.

After much searching I found this combo phone. The size is right, the price is right for what I will use it for, and I like that you can have up to 10 cordless handsets.

As far as I can tell there are no other 5.8 phones on the market that give you both the base with handset and the cordless.

I just took the handheld for a test around the neighborhood and was not thrilled with the distances I received, but after researching that part I found out the distance won't be much better than a 2.4, so my expectations were too high.


FOLLOW UP: I have since returned the phone. It started giving me a weird echo chamber sound in the middle of a given call. Also the base speaker phone turned out to be horrible, no one could hear me no matter how close I got to the mic. Add in the fact that it didn't support voice mail, and I will hold out for a better system.
